Opening Day

Four Hours til the first game of the season, my now local team Rangers against the now AL Astros, so wrong  mrSelig, why the Brewers didn't go back to the AL is beyond me.  Bye bye tradition - Anywho - Looking forward to catching a few innings after bath time with little miss awesome (the daughter)

Til then here is my first pack of Opening Day, its a big pack, not sure the technical name, but it was 2.99 for 24cards instead of three pack that only equaled 21 cards.

Shaking the rust off

I know its been awhile but life just hasn't been allowing me much time or money for collecting.  A really quick recap, I am now in Texas and my daughter is two point five, wifey started a new job and i am working my way up a small business but doing art stuff.  Yep that about sums it up.  I have really missed collecting and even sharing the one or two things i pick up sporadically.   Its the beginning of a new season and I am inspired to give blogging another go.  As always I hope you enjoy my little play by play on collecting and baseball.

Kicking 2013 off with just a couple of packs from the local Target or Walmart (i cant remember which :).

99cent Longo Lot

Just adding to my Longoria collection, shocking i know :)

The mini is what caught my attention
it is something i needed
and has been on my radar
just never able to find one for the right price
so i checked out the rest of the lot
pretty bland on first glance
but then i noticed some things

first i noticed the different symbol on the Longo/Price card
aquafina
thats different
not something i would chase or really intentional pick up
but it makes this lot a little more special

then i noticed the Timeline has a little extra gold foil
20th anniversary logo
that makes for something new too

plus the 08 Target insert i love
even though i already have it
its just so awesome

okay lets bid one dollar

so two for shipping
makesthis lot equal a pack of cards
not to bad for three new additions

Relic OVERLOAD!!!

Why overload, because i am not a fan of relic cards generally. The whole taking something and breaking, cutting or chopping it up. Seems so wrong. Especially when that something would have been a centerpiece item in someones collection.

That said, at less than two bucks a piece i wasn't passing up some new cards

it took dozens upon dozens of auctions to finally land this one
rare it is not
but finding it for less than two bucks = really hard
again i went by the mantra of if someone else already had it at 99cents
i wouldn't jack it up
and i saw many go for 99 cents
to bad not every else lives by that credo
good design
photo nothing special but it works well

i love it
wish it was blue and not red
but i understand the red
the stitches of a baseball = red
shot like a gun fired usually characterized with red
it works really well
nice photo too
my second fav of TWIC
